I. Introduction to CIMT
The China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT), founded in 1989 and organized by the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association (CMTBA), is held in Beijing in odd-numbered years and has successfully concluded its 19th edition. After 36 years of development, CIMT has evolved into the world's largest professional event for the machine tool industry over the past decade and is internationally recognized as one of the four major international machine tool exhibitions. These include: EMO Europe, held biennially in odd-numbered years, rotating between Hanover (Germany), Milan (Italy), and Paris (France); IMTS USA, held biennially in even-numbered years in Chicago; and JIMTOF Japan, held biennially in even-numbered years, rotating between Tokyo and Osaka.
The 19th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2025), held from April 21 to 26, 2025, featured an exhibition area of 310,000 square meters across 17 halls. It boasted over 2,450 exhibiting manufacturers, including more than 1,000 international exhibitors. The event attracted over 210,000 professional visitors and 410,000 person-times of attendance, representing an increase of more than 36% compared to the previous CIMT 2023 and reaching the highest point in CIMT history.
Here are the highlights of CIMT 2025:
1.High-Level Attention: At the 2009 CIMT, Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang, accompanied by Minister Li Yizhong of Industry and Information Technology, visited the exhibition. Sixteen years later, at the 2025 CIMT, Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing attended the conference accompanied by top-tier leaders including Zhou Ji (former President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, current CAE Member), Wang Hong (Deputy Director-General of the Department of Equipment Industry, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), and Mao Yufeng (President of the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association). He issued important directives emphasizing China's independent innovation—genuine innovation rather than pseudo-innovation, substantive innovation rather than superficial innovation, and core technological innovation rather than simple innovation—to truly realize President Xi Jinping's directive regarding "New Quality Productive Forces."
2.Competition in Key Equipment: "Mother machines" (machine tools) in precision turning, turn-milling, milling, grinding, EDM, and measurement saw national teams, private enterprises, and top European brands competing on the same stage. A large number of turn-milling composite centers and five-axis machining centers emerged, covering five-axis milling (vertical, horizontal, gantry, floor-type), grinding, and EDM. For example, Topper's large auxiliary material high-speed gantry machines and Kede's non-orthogonal five-axis horizontal machining centers feature unique designs. Private enterprises have undergone a complete transformation regarding booth scale, diversity of exhibits, and quality improvement. Many domestically produced machine tools are now indistinguishable from imports once logos are removed, signaling a clear direction for China's machine tool manufacturing industry.
3.Domestication of Core Technologies: Domestic CNC systems are the core technology of mother machines, with significant achievements by Huazhong CNC, GSK, KND, as well as self-developed systems by Kede and Jingdiao. Excellent domestic manufacturers also emerged for spindles (e.g., IBAG), gratings (e.g., Changchun Yuheng), guideways, ball screws, bearings (e.g., Luoyang Bearing), and PLCs (e.g., Inovance). A key manifestation of artificial intelligence is the intelligent digital flexible production lines used in industrial management and manufacturing processes. These lines will fundamentally alter management, operation, production, cost, and labor models—those who adopt first benefit first, while those who lag will be eliminated. A major innovation of this exhibition was concentrating leading CNC system manufacturers and smart manufacturing enterprises in Hall E2.
4.Visitor Trends: Attendance and interaction at domestic equipment booths exceeded those at imported machine tool booths, fully demonstrating the rapid improvement in domestic machine tool technology, speed, quality, and variety. Booths featuring innovations attracted more visitors than standard booths, and the smart manufacturing hall saw more professionals than general machine tool halls.
Xi'an CHINAF Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. Additionally, the display featured Automatic Tool Changing Technology (turning tool change, milling tool change, EDM electrode change, etc.), automatic loading/unloading mechanisms, pre-setting and pre-adjustment stations, multi-structure cleaning systems, off-line laser measuring machines, and dedicated fixture technology. With a brand-new appearance, extraordinary strength, and excellent products, CHINAF Precision successfully captured the attention of countless professionals, becoming a shining star at the exhibition.

During the exhibition, the CHINAF Precision booth attracted peers from China, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, Japan, Singapore, Korea, and other countries. Among them were experts, leaders, and clients from industries such as aero-engine, aviation, aerospace, shipbuilding, ordnance, electronics, energy, automotive, and mold. The booth also drew representatives from over 30 domestic machine tool manufacturers, CMM manufacturers, robot manufacturers, and zero-point positioning system suppliers, who stopped by to discuss and explore collaborative development, expressing deep interest in the company's solutions and products.
Facing experts from various industries, our management, technical specialists, and sales managers—along with our staff—leveraged their professional expertise and enthusiastic service to provide detailed introductions to the features, advantages, and application scenarios of our products, patiently answering every visitor's questions. Many attendees returned to the booth multiple times to communicate and exchange ideas, fully reflecting that knowledge is power, advancement is power, and innovation is power. During the exhibition, live demonstrations of the CHINAF PCS Control System were conducted, showcasing characteristics such as comprehensiveness, advancement, process-orientation, reliability, and user-friendliness. This was specifically manifested in intelligent scheduling, data acquisition, quality management, adaptive machining (advanced option), full closed-loop control (advanced option), compensation technology, and 3T integration technology. Furthermore, projects that have been delivered and are operating successfully were presented to users as empirical proof.
The flexible production line of CHINAF Precision takes advanced and mature processes as its soul, mechanical and electrical systems as its foundation, control software as its key, and algorithms as its core. We perform real-time detection of numerous variables—including machine cold state, thermal state, temperature fluctuations, changes in machine accuracy, fixture precision variations, tool wear, and part processing stress—and process these through algorithms to provide optimal solutions. This perfectly stabilizes part machining quality, reducing tolerances by 1/3 to 1/2 compared to conventional methods. Therefore, CHINAF's flexible production line processing is not merely a repetition of single-machine processing, but a sublimation of the entire production process. By adopting CHINAF Precision's technology, domestic equipment can achieve machining quality comparable to top-tier European equipment, enabling domestic substitution and eradicating the chronic issue of Europe's technological strangulation of China.
